Accessibility Statement

At MS Queensland, we want everyone to be able to access the information, support and services on our website.

We’re committed to creating a digital experience that is inclusive, accessible and easy to use for all people, including anyone who needs additional support. We continue to invest in improving our website so visitors can access, understand and engage with our content with confidence and ease.

Our commitment to accessibility

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and continously review our website to identify and improve accessibility.

While we work towards full compliance, some content may not yet meet these standards, including:

  • Third-part tools, applications or content
  • Some older PDF and downloadable documents

We’re actively working to improve these areas and resolve any accessibility issues we identify.

MS Queensland is committed to meeting its obligations under relevant accessibility, disability and human rights legislation and standards, including:

  • Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth)
  • Human Rights Act 2019 (QLD)
  • NDIS Practice Standards (where applicable)
  • Aged Care Quality Standards

How we support accessibility

Accessibility is an important part of how we work. We support this by:

  • Embedding accessibility into our policies, processes and everyday practices
  • Considering accessibility when selecting products, platforms and services
  • Providing accessibility tools and support for website visitors
  • Training our customer-facing teams to confidently assist users with accessibility features

Accessibility support on our website

To help make our website easier to use, we’ve included the Recite Me Accessibility Toolbar.

This toolbar provides additional support and personalisation options. It complements our commitment to accessibility but does not replace our responsibility to meet WCAG standards.

With the Recite Me Toolbar, you can:

  • Have website content read aloud
  • Change text sizes, fonts, colours and contrast
  • Adjust spacing and line height
  • Use reading aids to support you
  • Zoom in up to 200%
  • Navigate the website using a keyboard
  • Translate content into more than 100 languages
  • Access text-to-speech functionality in multiple languages

We also aim to write content in clear, simple language so information is easier to understand and use.

How to access the Recite Me Toolbar

On desktop:

  • Click the red ‘accessibility’ button in the top-right hand corner of the page

On mobile:

  • Tap the red ‘accessibility icon’ next to the search icon.

Once opened, you’ll have access to a range of features, including text-to-speech, translation, reading aids, and tools to adjust colours, fonts, contrast and text size.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) provide internationally recognised standards for making web content more accessible.

MS Queensland is working towards full WCAG 2.2 Level AA compliance by March 2026.

Some content supplied by third parties may not fully meet these standards. Where possible, we work closely with third parties and partners to improve accessibility and address any issues that arise.

How we’re improving accessibility

We’re committed to making our website easier for everyone to use.

To help us do this, we regularly review and improve our website using a combination of accessibility tools, manual reviews and feedback from people with lived experience of disability. These insights help us identify barriers, prioritise improvements and create a better experience for all users.

Our focus areas include:

Regular accessibility reviews

  • We regulary assess our website and make improvements as we work towards WCAG 2.2 Level AA compliance by March 2026

Listening and responding to feedback

  • We welcome and encourage feedback from our website visitors – we will use this feedback to identify and address accessibility issues as quickly as possible.

Clear and easy to understand content

  • We aim to write in simple language and use clear heading, formatting and page structures to make information easier to find and understand.

Meaningful image descriptions

  • We provide alternative text (alt text) for images wherever possible so screen readers can describe visual content to users.

Keyboard accessibility

  • We’re working to ensure our website can be navigated and used without a mouse, supporting people who rely on keyboards or assistive technology.

Consistent navigation and design

  • We aim to provide predictable, user-friendly experience with clear navigation and consistent page layouts across our website.

Accessible documents and resources

  • We review PDFs and downloadable resources to improve accessibility and are committed to providing more accessible and easy to read materials over time.

Training and awareness

  • Our team continues to build its knowledge of accessibility, inclusive design and best practice digital experiences.

Continuous improvement

  • Accessibility is an ongoing commitment. We’re always looking for ways to improve our website and remove accessibility barriers for our community.
